A busy day on the Blog + SWF

Now that the weather is good, shooting is back in full swing and with that comes editing! Argh. The bane of every photographer. There are times when I enjoy it...seeing my 'vision' unfold in front of me and looking back on good times! But I would much rather be shooting. This is one of those weeks I need to edit all day, every day and get caught up on my work - so glad it is raining today cuz it makes it easier to be stuck inside.

So one of the shoots I am editing is of my friend, Becky. She indulged me one evening....being a bit of guinea pig as I test out some new equipment. She just bought a fabulous new dress that inspired a 40's pin-up girl type shoot. What a hoot we had that night - even with the 'interesting' on-lookers! And thank you, Alyssa for helping me out that night! There will be more shoots to come and we still have your images to go thru as well!

OH, and one last note on these images...boys, scratch that, MEN, she's single!

Introducing Ozzy

He's the newest member of our family! We had to put our old boy, Potter, to sleep a few weeks ago. Arthritis had taken a toll on his 16 year old body. I sure miss him, and, so it seemed, did Tonka, our other cat. So I went hunting on Kijiji and found our newest furry friend! He's just a snuggle bug and slept on Jacob's head last night!

Meet the Falls Family!

Young Mr. Falls was all smiles for the camera, but too short of a nap eventually caught up with him!! However, a tractor ride always makes little boys feel better. Check out those eyes & that expression...he's gonna be a heartbreaker one day!

Lindsey + Marc | LOVE

It was a beautiful sunny evening when we took to the roads & golf course for Marc & Lindsey's engagement. I have known Lindsey for quite a few years now & I am so happy she found such a great match in Marc (or Marky Marc, as some of us like to call him). They don't come much better than him! The pair of them are so silly together & we had a blast on our night out together. If you run into Lindsey, be sure to ask her how she got wet & where she changed her clothes!!! And btw, congratulations on your new house!!

Baxter Creek Golf & Country Club

I just wanted to give a big shout out to Baxter Creek Golf & Country Club near Peterborough. They have been gracious hosts for several weddings that I have photographed, but most recently they allowed me to do an engagement shoot with my good friends Lindsey & Mark, and even provided a 'limo' cart, complete with driver! Thank you, Al for being our host that evening! What superb service you provided & what a beautiful course!

New Coffee Table Books!

Hi Everyone!
Hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend! It was the last of my weekends off and I'm into high gear for wedding season!!! I have a new coffee table book to offer clients and I want to show it off here first. This is a press printed book with thick, glossy pages that lay flat - which make it perfect for full page spreads! It has a satin photo cover (not a dust jacket) that I customize for you! Absolutely stunning book! Everyone that has seen them so far, wants one!!!

Happy Mother's Day

This morning I woke to a 'menu' on my bed & a giggling child. My husband made breakfast in bed, while my son served it up. Complete with a movie to watch at the same time...Shall We Dance? Richard Gere....oh my, I woke up with Richard Gere!
It was a wonderful way to start the day! Jacob had made a present for me in school, a picture of himself, that he drew, framed & everything and he even wrapped it, in that charming way that boys wrap things up!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing very dear friends, who I think of as family. A 4 generation picture! Sometimes people ask how we are related....I just say we adopted each other! To Grammie, Pam & Jenn (and Aunt Shirley too), Happy Mother's Day. Thank you for being part of our family. We love you all so much!

Photo of the Day

Taken near Burnt River, on my way home from an evening shoot. The black flies were so thick I had to run away, snap a few frames off & hope that at least one or two wouldnt have the masses of black specs in the shots!

I have an ever expanding group of friends & clients who subscribe to my Photo of the Day. If you would like to have a pretty picture pop up in your inbox on a daily (or sometimes weekly) basis, please drop me a line & I will happily add you to the list!

And Baby Makes Four!

A couple of months ago I had the pleasure of photographing Brandon & Tasha while they anxiously awaited baby #2!

Welcome Baby Jaxon! Just 2 1/2 weeks old & sweet as pie!! He was my easiest newborn shoot ever - he just slept & slept and peeked his eyes open every now & then! I just couldn't wait to edit a few of these images for Mom & Dad & big sister to see quickly!!

Genna + Jason | LOVE

Sunday evening was gorgeous with a golden sun & some intermittent dark, stormy clouds! I met up with Genna & Jason and we tooted about town for their engagement shoot. We had so much fun. Jay is a real ham for the camera & loved to throw Genna over his shoulder in typical fireman rescue mode! I'm really looking forward to their August wedding!

Chason + Melissa | LOVE

Sunday was a fabulous day for a photo shoot. I spent the morning with Chason & Melissa at the family farm, where the wedding will take place in just a few weeks! I think everyone knows how much I love a RED BARN and there are no shortages at their farm! Jerry, the cat, followed us around & wanted his picture taken too!

Photo of the Day
My favourite barn...Reaboro, Ontario at the end of Slanted Road.

I just love this old barn & I have photographed in all seasons, under the sun & moonshine. I have a large watercolour painting on my living room, that I did of it too! Yes, I love this barn. So full of character.
